As a muscular therapist, he has seen many clients with RSI's and has come to specialize in treating such clients. See the page entitled "Calendar of Reiki Classes and Clinics" for an explanation of Reiki. The other modalities mentioned here are explained below.
Repetitive Use Injury Therapy®/Muscle Release Technique® is a bodywork modality developed by Michael Young specially geared to relieving chronic muscle tension and lengthening tight, short muscles that contribute to Repetitive Stress Injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. It involves a coordinated combination of massage strokes and gentle stretching.
Muscular Therapy is a bodywork modality that combines over 300 specific movements with body care techniques and tips. It can lower blood pressure and heart rate while increasing blood flow and lymph drainage. It helps remove waste products from your muscles, while relaxing muscles, deepening your breathing, and relieving the pain-spasm-pain cycle. Denis provides Muscular Therapy Treatments both in his Arlington office, as well as on-site using a special chair. On-site muscular therapy is done with the client fully clothed.
Myofascial Release is an effective way of removing restrictions to the network of connective tissues within your body, known as the fascial system, by applying cross-handed stretching at the skin, as well as limb stretches. It works primarily with the fascia surrounding the muscles. It can provide relief of chronic pain and postural problems.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle way to evaluate and remove restrictions to the rhythmic flow of cerebrospinal fluid and energy in your body. It does this by removing restrictions to the fascia of the brain and spinal cord, working with the bones of the skull and sacrum to create movement in these layers of fascia. It is often effective in treating headaches, chronic pain, Temporo-mandibular Joint Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, hyperactivity, and many other conditions. John Upledger, D.O., recommends Craniosacral therapy as a safe form of body work for cancer patients. Craniosacral Therapy is done with the client fully clothed. It can be easily integrated with various forms of energy work, such as Reiki.
Active Isolated Stretching® is a form of gentle assisted stretching that addresses each muscle group separately. Developed by Aaron Mattis, this technique is very effective for increasing range of motion, flexibility and lengthening chronically tight and shortened muscles.
